“There are at least three ways one might enjoy Seeing Me: By reading the brief but insightful and thought-provoking vignettes by both authors; by admiring David Rackley’s beautiful and dramatic photography; and by applying the reflective writing technique via a few questions posed at the end of each chapter. While the first two are quite simple, the latter will prove a worthwhile but rewarding challenge to anyone who desires insight into his or her own life and how it might be made different. The reflective writing approach has a subtle Zen-like quality that I found very useful. Don’t be surprised if you learn things about yourself that you didn’t know, and if you experience unexpected “aha!” moments. This unusual book is one that you can easily come back to again and again. Highly recommended.
Seeing Me is available as an eBook on Kindle and as a print-on-demand title on Blurb.com. Additionally, there is a discussion page on Facebook.
Dave and I very carefully crafted links to quoted authors and to resources external to the book. Technological limitations with our fixed-formatted eBook prevent those links from being active. Moreover, the print edition of the book cannot support active links, so the following set of links from the book will allow you to navigate to the quoted authors and related material.

What They’re Saying
“ Illustrating the similarities between the photographic and the writing processes as a way of looking into deepening one’s understanding of self and the world, and affecting both through a shift in focus, is ingenious. It is truly a fresh approach which, along with the excellent writing prompts, will provide the reader many “aha” moments, as it did me. Combining the re-storying and photographic process—a most appealing approach—shows the speed with which one can shift focus.
The meaning of the title of the book, Seeing Me, is superbly revealed in the little girl’s expression in the cover photo. It captures the essence of the essentials to seeing oneself—wonder and curiosity.
I look forward to following the guidance found in this book as I continue on the path to greater self-knowledge.

“A remarkable process for reframing, reclaiming life. Before we are asked to recall and then reimagine our lives, the authors model the process by opening up with their own stories in the most honest, authentic manner. Our courage to look deeply into our own story comes easier when we see what happens when we become open, vulnerable and steadfast. I am thrilled to see how changing the narrative I tell about myself changes my life story. What a powerful process this is.
